At Oregon Tech, we take immense pride in our alumni and their remarkable journeys. Sheridan’s path to success and fulfillment is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the profound impact of a supportive educational environment.

Sheridan her family

Sheridan grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1997. Her initial dream was to become a doctor, inspired by her experiences shadowing medical professionals in high school. However, a pivotal conversation with her orthopedic surgeon, who advised her on the challenging lifestyle of a doctor, led her to reconsider her career path. This moment of reflection became a turning point in Sheridan’s life.

After exploring various career options, Sheridan discovered the field of sonography. She was drawn to the blend of patient care, medical responsibility, and the potential for a balanced lifestyle. Oregon Tech’s DMS program stood out as the ideal choice, offering a comprehensive four-year degree that would provide her with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career.

Sheridan boys

Sheridan began her journey at Oregon Tech as a non-traditional student. At 23 years old, she was recently married and had a six-week-old baby. Despite the challenges, she excelled academically, graduating magna cum laude and receiving the prestigious Ian Donald Award for excellence in obstetrics. Her dedication and hard work exemplify the spirit of Oregon Tech students.

Post-graduation, Sheridan worked at Oregon Imaging Center for 14 years before joining Oregon Medical Group. Her experiences at Oregon Tech prepared her exceptionally well for the professional world. She became a clinical advisor for OIT students, taking pride in mentoring and shaping the next generation of sonographers.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sheridan found a deep passion for scouting. With three boys, she embraced scouting as a family activity, eventually taking on leadership roles. Her love for adventure and teaching young people thrived in this environment, fostering lifelong friendships and unforgettable experiences.

Sheridan Scuba

Sheridan’s commitment to her family led her on incredible Scouting adventures. From scuba diving in the Solomon Islands to exploring the Swiss Alps, these experiences have enriched their lives and strengthened their bonds. In 2024 Sheridan was honored with the title of Scouter of the Year Award from the Oregon Trail Council.

She remains actively connected with Oregon Tech through social media and alumni groups. These platforms have allowed her to stay in touch with fellow graduates, share job opportunities, and continue contributing to the Oregon Tech community.
